Description
This is the second in a series of belt buckles I made for one of my metalworking classes. Same as the first, I only made it a belt buckle to fit the assignment.
The assignment was meant to explore acid etching with PNP paper and designs that I either drew or found, as well as different patinas. This is made from copper that was acid etched and soldered onto brass that I put a hammer texture on, the leaves are copper with a hammer texture as well. I used liver of sulfer with gesso as a base patina layer, then used a combination of cupric nitrate and cupric sulfate(I think) to get the green coloring on the bird.
