Lizard Woman

Anyways, I saw the Splice contest thing, figured why the heck not draw something for that. I pretty much just let my mind wander, I had an initial idea but once I started drawing what came out was in the complete opposite direction. Then after putting down the flat colors, I had to sit here and figure out how the heck I was going to shade it... So then I spent several hours playing with different shading techniques...
Once I was happy with the shading, I figured why the heck not color the lineart!

And now you have the above image. Some weird lizard/salamander woman thing.

Y'know, there was something about this drawing that just bugged me... I couldn't figure it out. Something just looked weird.... Then it hit me, you really couldn't see the COLORS on her, couldn't tell that she wasn't just this pale white lizard creature... So I darkened her skin tone to make that more visible...
