Forgive me, Reize (spoilers?)

Drawn for the Specter of Torment art contest for Yacht Club games. Specter of Torment was really quite the fantastic game! And the ending was really quite beautiful, hence why I felt like drawing part of it. d=

Hoooo boy.... This one was an adventure to finish! I'm going to copy/paste what I rambled on about on tumblr 'cause I'm too lazy to retype it up again:

First off, I decided to try something completely new and challenging with this… See, normally I draw, well.. Tiny. Talking 800x800px canvases and all that… SO I said “HEY WHAT THE HECK! LETS GO WITH 8400x10800px!!!!” 

….Which is something I am neeeever doing again because holy crap… The filesize is huge(the whole thing is 80mb), it took 30 seconds to a few minutes to save every time, and while it was great working out itty bitty tiny details, it took significantly longer than it usually does to get the same shading effects I normally do. So, I was pretty much spending all of my free time over the week working on it, including all night Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday…

Then on the Monday before the contest ended, my computer’s power supply decided it was going to kick it.

I discovered this in the morning before work when my computer wouldn’t turn on. Cue a bit of a freak out because the drawing isn’t done and my computer isn’t working, and at the time I wasn’t even sure it was the power supply. Next off is an emergency trip to Fry’s electronics to get a power supply, two hours of time spent installing said power supply, then spending the rest of the evening trying to finish the drawing… Which I had to finish that night because I was doing something on that Tuesday that would take up that time. 

So, I finished it about two in the morning on that Monday. Obviously its not perfect, and I really could have worked on Reize’s face a little more, But I managed to get it done, and I actually really kind of like the result!
